How To Money: September Wrap-Up
Articles, resources & tools to level up your personal finance skills.
Dear How To Money Reader,
Welcome to my September wrap-up! I’ve spent the month trying to build a solid morning and evening routine, and have spent far more time than one should reading about other people’s routines, building good habits (you can probably tell James Clear’s books have been consulted here) and finding the perfect tool to help me do this.
I must’ve downloaded and tested at least 10 apps, but I finally settled on Routinery, which is mostly free (advanced analytics and offline backups cost extra). You’ll need to play around with timings and the order of tasks a little, but once you find a routine that works, it’s a simple way to keep you consistent.
Honestly, with the prospect of still being in the “Melbourne lockdown” until at least the end of October, having a daily routine has been instrumental in getting me out of bed and staying relatively productive each day. I’d encourage you to give it ago, and if it doesn’t help, then you haven’t lost anything.
Anyway, let's get into all the awesome content and resources I’ve found for you this month.
New From HTM
On The Australian Finance Podcast this month, Owen and I talked to a financial counsellor to learn more about how they work and the scope of their role. I’d highly recommend checking out this episode and sharing it with your friends and family.
Aussie FIRE, an eBook collaboration between 20 of Australia’s top FIRE experts and Pearler, has now officially been released in its full glory (all 288 pages of it). Get your copy for free over here at Pearler!
I was also interviewed by a great FIRE blogger I follow, called The Frugal Samurai. If the financial independence movement is something you’re interested in, I’d highly recommend checking out his other articles and videos.
